For Sale: Mag-Iloy, A Nunelucio Alvarado Painting

11 comments:
Iconic Negrenese social realist painter Nunelucio Alvarado (1950) is regarded as one of the most prominent contemporary artists in the Philippines.  He has won numerous international critical acclaim for his powerful works that mostly portrayed the life and struggles of Negros Occidental’s  the working class.

Alvarado’s art is a panorama of Philippine life that ranges  from the decorative aspects of Negros life such as the colorful fruits and vegetables found in the market; or the simple family life that utilizes the bright prints and patterns under the Visayan sun; and on the darker side, the evils of  environmental, social and cultural degradation of which he is known for as a social realist.

Recognized for his unique and distinct style of bright-eyed squat and squared figures that employ strong vivid colors and dark lines, Alvarado frequently applies powerful psycho-sexual symbols with a touch of the surreal as he depicts the plight of sugarcane workers, fishermen and traders found in his native Negros Occidental.

BMEG Llamados is the 2012 Commissioner's Cup Champion

1 comment:
Late post, I know.  But hey, I've been watching the game for four straight days now, LOL!  There's just too many moments in the Game 7 of the PBA's 2012 Commissioner's Cup worth watching over and over and over and over again.  And yes, I'd be watching again later, ha ha.

I could have wished that the series ended 4-0, 4-1, or 4-2 in favor of the BMEG Llamados.  But they just couldn't.  Game 2 is a sorry loss for them.  I even felt sorry for Denzel Bowles for tweeting "My fault" after the game.  Game 4 is a landslide victory for Talk N' Text Tropang Texters (TNT).  Game 6 gives me the feeling that we can't win the championship.  But come Game 7, I'm all suited up.

I ♥ Basketball

No comments:
I hardly remember when was the last time I watched PBA.  I'm browsing over my pictures and can't find any photo of me inside the Araneta for the past couple of years.  Seems like after Chris Pacana had been traded by Barangay Ginebra Kings and was not given quality playing minutes in his succeeding teams, I laid aback and become disinterested in basketball.  Hmmm, sort of.  Or most likely, because I've been busy with blogging and running.  Then I went to Singapore for six months, went back home and finally got married to the man I dearly love.

But now, the "I ♥ basketball" thingy is within me again.  First, courtesy of Jeremy Lin.  Second, because BMEG Llamados is now in the finals.  Holla!

Yes, I'm a bit sad right now because they lost earlier in Game 2.  There were just too much wasted opportunities for them to gain the 2-0 advantage.  But then again, winning is a learning process.  Hope they would learn from their mistakes and make it as their weapon come Game 3.

LINsanity Ain’t Over…

1 comment:
… for me.

Okay, let’s have a background how I become LINsane.

I first heard (Yes, heard. Not watched.) of a new rising NBA star from GMA’s 24-Oras, but just shrugged my shoulders on it. I thought, why would they be including that in the news? As if it is something important. My hubby said that he is Asian, maybe the reason why IT is news.

The next time I heard of him was again from GMA, this time over the radio while Mike Enriquez was interviewing Casimero regarding the uproar of the Argentina fans during his boxing match. Then Enriquez made a comment that he hopes that Casimero would remain humble despite the things that are happening in his life (career) just like Jeremy Lin who stays humble despite the attention being thrown at him. And the catch there was – he (Lin) is just sleeping on his brother’s couch.

I become interested.

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Net10 for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I've been overly busy with the construction of our would-be love crib that I had taken this blog for quite a while now.  But despite this "hectic" schedule that I have, I am thankful that God had provided for everything that we needed.

I had to give a special mention to the technology that speeds up communication nowadays - cellular phones.  Whenever I need to order construction materials, provide detail instructions to our architect, inquire about material costs, and requesting approval from the love of my life, my phone comes in handy.  I am particularly enjoying the benefits of my postpaid plan for this matter.

How about you, were you enjoying your monthly plans or it just stacks up to your stress every bills payment day?  If your acquisition of a cellular phone causes you stress rather than helping you relieve it, you might be on the wrong subscription plan.  Let's check What Rob has to say with this video.

Net10 Unlimited: What's the Deal?

No comments:

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Net10 for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Earlier, I called a hardware store to purchase 500pcs of CHB for our would-be crib.  Indeed, this is one of the many proofs that cellular phones are now a necessity rather than a luxury.  Accompanying this, though, are the different postpaid and prepaid plans that sometimes bring burden to the subscibers.

On my way home yesterday, I have read a banner indicating a 12 months of free talk and text from a well-known telecommunications company.  However, there is always a catch with this inviting offers.  But I guess not all.  Let's take a look first at this Cute NET10 commercial

I believe this is a sure great deal to almost everyone.  What I love about this is its FLEXIBILITY.  Yes, we all do have our cellular phone usage variations each month.  At some point, we may be needing a lot of talks; at another time, we may be needing a lot of data usage.  And since Net10 Unlimited allows you to switch between plans each month, you'll get the most out of your money to what you really need.  On top of that, there are no penalties nor fees when switching.

With just $50 per month, you get nationwide coverage of unlimited talk, text, and data.  Be sure to visit their Facebook and follow them on Twitter to know more about their amazing offers.  Better yet, witness the testimonials of a number of Real NET10 customer.  You'll definitely realize what you've been missing if you're not taking chances on Net10 Unlimited yet.

Shamcey Supsup in Miss Universe 2011 Q&A Portion

4 comments:
I believe most of the time, the beautiful and talented women of the Miss Universe Top 5's fate depends on their answer to the judge's question. If not, a greater portion of it. It is very evident to the crowned 1969 Miss Universe Gloria Diaz and the 4th Runner-up 2010 Miss Universe Venus Raj.

This year, the 2011 Miss Universe, our Shamcey Supsup did great in the Q&A portion. I haven't watched the beauty pageant yet, but from what I have read from the comments, a lot were thinking that she deserves the crown than Ms. Angola for she outwitted the other contestants with her answer.
